About Will Tumonis

Will Tumonis is the creator of Counter-Machiavellian Project and Machiavellian Academy.

He has always been both fascinated and aggravated by how easily Machiavellian politicians and other characters of that sort can deceive everyone around them for their own gain. As a writer and speaker, Tumonis likes to spend his time thinking of all the ways to make the lives of Machiavellian players as difficult as possible.

His work primarily explores and explains various manipulative tactics used in pursuit of power and influence – how they actually work and how to most effectively counteract them, all of which is driven by the idealistic hope that the more everyone understands exactly how they are manipulated, the more resistant they will become to it.

Tumonis’s professional background is in strategic decision-making and related fields. For over a decade, he worked as an independent consultant, advising on psychological factors that sway high-stakes decisions in negotiation, litigation, and politics. Before that, after graduating from law school he briefly pursued an academic career as a researcher studying various factors behind misguided judicial decisions, but then he realized that his own decision to pursue an academic career had been a misguided one.
